IFS for Chronic Illness, Fatigue, Adjusting to Aging, & Disability.
I've been living with Crohn's disease since I was 16 years old. I get about 5-7 "normal" days a month. Through Internal Family Systems (IFS) I've increased self-love, genuine self-care, and unloaded stress & trauma from my body. Let's learn more about ourselves & connect and learn from each other.

About the event
Hey there folx! So glad you've popped in to check out this offering.
As a person living with chronic illness, I've gone through layers of denial, self-blame, comparing to others, grief, pushing through, not getting accommodations, not asking for help, bed days, etc. I've also managed to have loving relationships, adventures, a career. What a wild mix of human experiences. In the last few years, IFS has allowed me to lean more into acceptance, get real with how hard it's been, release old stress and trauma from my body and nervous system, honor my needs and down-time without shame and guilt, open up to receiving care from others, and so much more. Let's do this together!
How do you manage the challenges of chronic illness, fatigue, pain, and/ or aging while stubbornly holding on to a worthwhile quality of life?
I'm inviting you to be with your internal world; to meet your parts, get to know them, grieve, rage, connect over joy. As we learn more about ourselves, we can share with others who are having similar experiences, we can receive understanding and care, and we can learn from each other.

What will you get out of this experience?
Through group shares and guided meditation we will have opportunities to:
Connect with parts of us related to our chronic pain, fatigue, illness, etc. and feel a deeper sense of self-compassion and self-validation
Explore our somatic sensations and learn how to gently release stored emotions
Grieve losses of self-identity and awaken to our current dynamic self-identity. You are valuable, you matter.
Reconnect with our bodies, becoming a team with our bodies as we work to heal, manage disability, and enjoy life.
Be in community together.
What should I bring?
Your lived experience.
Optional: journal, sketch pad, color pens, pencils, art supplies.
